“This party was launched at the Coast by Shehe and it has shown interest to work with me,” said Namwamba
Kennedy Okello,the Secretary general of Federal Party of Kenya had opposed the registration of the party alleging it has similarity in symbols with his political organ.
“We had no alternative but to follow the law governing the operations of political parties in the country because that is our obligation,” he said.
Namwamba left the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) where he was the secretary-general to establish own outfit as he prepares to announce his political direction ahead of the general elections set for August next year.
He is rumoured to be working closely with Deputy president William Ruto for a possible political alliance. Namwamba has since downplayed the allegations.
Opposition chief Raila Odinga had persuaded Ababu Namwamba to stay back but he refused.
